Yes, let's REALLY "make America healthy again" by treating the disease of obesity like any other chronic disease. I've lost 28% of my body weight on semaglutide that I've paid for out of pocket and I'm 5 pounds from my goal. I'm grateful for compounded drugs as otherwise I wouldn't have had a source, but moving forward it's all about maintenance, just like blood pressure or diabetes. I shouldn't be penalized because I need pharmaceutical metabolic and hormonal correction to achieve and maintain a normal weight.

Thank you so much, Dave. I am very fortunate in that my two senators are Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, and I know they are very concerned with Californians' health. I have just sent them both emails, and I'm looking forward to hearing from them. Keep up the impactful work you're doing!

Thank everyone involved in helping get all these drugs brought out to public knowledge and working to get them passed.

I hope you are right, but this is not the first time for TROA... Just the latest version.

I am aware, as we have been covering TROA for about 3 years now. However, this has a group of 15 bi-partisan co-sponsors

For those who’d like to personalize their messages to their senators for more attention, just add a few words to make it a little different from all the others they will be receiving.

I have included what I said. Feel free to copy, paste, and edit as you’d like. Sometimes that personal appeal catches their eye.

As your constituent in [your county of residence] County, I urge you to support the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act of 2025. This legislation is crucial for expanding access to effective obesity treatments for Medicare beneficiaries. I am covered through my insurance plan, but I am one of the few. GLP1 therapy, specifically Zepbound, has changed my health and my life for the better!! No more obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or blood sugar for me since being on this medication. There are MANY older Americans who also need and deserve the same coverage I have!

Thank you for your consideration in this matter, and I hope you will vote in favor of this act.

This makes my heart happy. I am on Medicare, work full-time and in healthcare and I see daily What obesity causes, and what these medication’s can do for chronic disease management.

Phone calls often work better than letters given many years of dealing with both federal, state and local legislative bodies and more than one call. Letters are good too but staff really track phone calls and if you get a staff member - you can share your story. Call you local and DC offices.
